Neetu Chandra brings pride to the bihari community once again as she walked the red carpet for her film, Jackson Halt, at IFFI 2024. The film is directed by national award winning filmmaker Nitin Chandra, who is also Neetu’s brother.

Neetu’s first Maithili film, as producer, Mithila Makhaan, brought her the top honors, a coveted National Award in 2015. The film also earned the rare distinction as the first film from Bihar and Jharkhand combined to win a National Award.

Jackson Halt stands out as the only film from Bihar to be showcased at this year’s ongoing IFFI festival in Goa.

Neetu Chandra, who continues her mission of bringing regional cinema to the forefront, reflected on her journey. “I am happy that I am able to give back to the Bihari film community and industry in my own little way. We (Maithilis) are a thriving culture, but I feel that the global audience needs to know more about us. This film is a humble effort to bring the nuances of our Maithili culture to the forefront in front of a wide audience at IFFI,” she shared.

Jackson Halt is part of a five-film showcase by Eaves, the OTT platform launched by Prasar Bharti.

Waves, aims to create a blend of iconic legacy content and new-age family-oriented films, catering to a diverse audience.

Director Nitin Chandra expressed his gratitude, saying, “My film is meant for the family audience, and the narration is universal. I am so humbled that my film was patronised by Prasar Bharati’s Waves. The response was overwhelming. I am thankful for this opportunity.”
